AOL Doesn't Want Dial-Up Internet Customers But WE Do

America Online Inc. just said something virtually unheard of in world of Internet service. They are RAISING their prices. Not for all subscribers, mind you. Just for the 14 to 15 million loyal dial-up customers who have been responsible for making AOL the ISP juggernaut it has become. If you are among the unlucky, you'll be getting an email from AOL with the wonderful news that your unlimited dial-up Internet access is going up to ... drum roll, please ... $25.90 a month.

What? Are they nuts? Over twenty five buckeroos a month for dial-up Internet? In this era of competitive Internet services?

Fine. If that's what AOL wants, it's perfectly OK with us. We have really good dial-up Internet access available from communications giant PowerNet Global for about half that price. You'll get unlimited 56K dial-up Internet service that is accelerated to load web pages up to 5 times faster than standard dial-up service. You get a pop-up blocker to get rid of those annoying pop-up ads, up to 5 email addresses, 10 Mb of web space to create your own web page, and free technical support by phone or online 24 hours a day.

The price? Your first month costs just $1 and then it's as low as $12.95 a month after that. I say as low as because you also have the opportunity to bundle your Internet service and long distance service and get only one bill a month. Are you paying only 3.9 cents a minute for your long distance calls? If not, take advantage of this deal and you'll get a double savings. You'll pay much less for Internet service than you did with AOL and you'll pay less for your long distance calls too. Even if you elect to have just the Internet service from PowerNet Global, your price is a flat rate of only $14.95 a month.

I should mention that you can save even more by switching both your local and long distance phone service to PowerNet Global if you live in the states of CA, FL, GA, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, TX, VA, or WI. You'll get unlimited local calling plus a bundle of long distance minutes all for one low price that probably beats what you are paying now just for local service. How about Bundled Local Phone Service, Long Distance Calling and Internet Service on ONE low bill every month?

So take that, AOL. We know that you are trying to rid yourselves of dial-up customers in favor of broadband Internet, but not everyone wants or needs broadband. If you are an occasional Internet user or travel a lot and need to be able to get access from wherever you happen to be, dial-up is still a smart and cost-effective Internet service. Bundle your phone and Interent services on one bill and it's a big cost saver.

Of course, broadband Internet service is truly the best service for a lot of people and we can help you save money on this too. Before you jump at any broadband offers just to keep your Internet service, be sure to look closely at what speeds you are getting for the price they want. Some so-called broadband isn't that much faster than dial-up, especially with accelerated web page loading.
